Tom Lynch

Tom Lynch earned his BA in history from the University of St. Thomas in 1985. In 1988, he received his licensure to teach social studies and special education. Tom was employed by Intermediate District 287 as a special education instructor for students with emotional and behavioral challenges from 1988 to 2013. During this time, he worked primarily with “at risk” youth in alternative high schools, and was asked to consult with member school districts regarding students with behavioral challenges.

In 2013, Tom began a new phase in his career as the director of Access Services at North Hennepin Community College. In this role, he sees to it that students with disabilities receive the accommodations they need to be successful on the college level. Tom is a board member for the Minnesota Association of Higher Education and Disability and enjoys promoting collaborations between industry and education on behalf of students with disabilities.
