Travis L. Jones is a principal strategist with The Winters Group, Inc. His main areas of interest are race, religion, cultural competency and leadership. He leverages social science research to address issues of organizational culture on both the individual and group levels. His commitment to evidence-based practice means he tries to marry the best of the humanities and social science research with the evidence of our everyday experience to inform content design, facilitation and consulting services across a wide array of organizations in both the public and the private sectors.

As a sociologist, Travis is particularly attuned to group dynamics, issues of power, and all of the ways our respective cultural worlds shape our thinking and relationships. He is passionate about creating a world where everyone can flourish.

As an educator and facilitator, both in and outside of academia, Travis is committed to transformative pedagogies that utilize a learner’s cultural world as the starting point for deeper understanding, increased empathy, and reflective action in the world. Travis is an avid traveler, having spent time in more than 30 countries on five continents.

He holds a BA in philosophy and an MA in sociology from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, in addition to a Master of Divinity. He is currently pursuing a PhD with concentrations in leadership development and organizational culture.
