Akshay Kumar

As a university professor and researcher, Akshay Kumar is dedicated to bringing the issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion to the forefront in the world at large and, in particular, to his native India. Whether it is family leave, pay equity, or disability rights, he has championed these causes in the classroom, in his research, and in his writing.

He is currently a visiting professor at Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (India), senior lecturer at the University of East London (UK), director and senior consultant at Ask Insights (India), and a senior fellow for the Indian Council of Medical Research (Government of India). His expertise is in clinical psychology.

Akshay believes it is his moral responsibility to research on new and innovative DEI concepts so that the science of inclusion keeps progressing and innovating itself. He expresses that belief in the classroom and through numerous articles written for publications, such as the Harvard Business Review.

His goal in attending 2023 The Forum is to build his own base of knowledge, learning best practices from around the world in order to bring that knowledge back to India. He wants to share his learnings with the next generation of Indian university students, to inculcate into them the spirit of inclusion and thereby building a truly inclusive India.

As a researcher he hopes to form alliances and collaborations for global joint projects with leading thought leaders attending The Forum, spreading this knowledge to client organizations in the corporate, non-profit, and social sectors.

For all these things, we believe Jordan would be proud to recognize Akshay Kumar as the recipient of the Jordan M. Roberge Memorial Scholarship.
