Description

Companies are discovering the power of disability inclusion to fuel innovation and drive revenue. USBLN business leaders, from across industries, will share how their quest for greater disability inclusion in the workforce has led to product breakthroughs, and enhanced customer service. So often when we hear about disability inclusive practices, they are focused on compliance with legislation and/or part of a corporate social responsibility/philanthropic effort. This session will feature four companies that have recognized that disability inclusion is a fast track for achieving product and service innovation—as it requires rethinking traditional ways of doing things to make an offering accessible and inclusive.

USBLN CEO Jill Houghton will highlight data from the Disability Equality Index and other research documenting the links between disability and business innovation. This will be followed by case studies from “accessibility architects” at 3M, Boston Scientific, General Motors and Comcast NBCUniversal—as they showcase the many ways disability inclusion has burnished their brand and enhanced market and revenue opportunities.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand how disability inclusion drives innovation in products and services.
  • Discover how companies have made the transition from compliance and the “right thing to do” to invest in disability inclusion as business strategy.
  • Explore how your company could leverage similar strategies to enhance market share, innovation, and customer delight.
