Description

People want to work where they can make a difference. The State of Minnesota and governmental entities are intentionally reaching out to the public to more directly involve them in the development of public policy. As a result, more individuals within historically disenfranchised communities are beginning to see employment with the government as a way to bring out positive change in society. This session will explore how various governmental employers such as the State of Minnesota are using their efforts in civic engagement to leverage their employment recruiting and retention efforts.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Discuss branding as a sustainable recruiting strategy to leverage diversity and inclusion.
  • Discuss intentional civic engagement efforts being undertaken by government entities to involve all people in society in public policy development.
  • Explore case studies of government entities using their civic engagement efforts within their recruiting and retention efforts.
