Description

What is the meaning and practice of diversity and inclusion across cultures and on a global scale? In this workshop, we will engage in an invigorating group analysis of the challenges, strategies, and best practices in global diversity initiatives. Global organizations are attempting to implement diversity and inclusion initiatives on a global basis. In this interactive session, we will examine how diverse diversity is, through a review of case studies of failed and successful attempts to take D&I onto a global stage. We will examine and share cases and key learnings, and together design strategies for taking a diversity initiative global. Based on a 2017-18 survey of members of the Global Diversity LinkedIn Group, we will create a charter for organizations to follow when looking at D&I from a global perspective.

Participants will be deployed into strategic topical areas to identify the challenges and recommendations for their topical area. The determinations of the session will result in articles, webinars and podcasts to be shared with the larger D&I community. Attendees will develop their own best practices and tools which promote global diversity for their organization.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Analyze the evolving meaning of the term diversity found around the world.
  • Assess the challenges and danger zones of a global D&I initiative and apply strategies to promote global diversity initiatives.
  • Apply and develop best practices and tools which promote a global diversity initiative in participants’ organizations.
