When: April 18, 2019
Location/Room: M 100 I

Track: Innovation & Transformation
Presenter: Lisa Perez, Prosperity Ready

Description

For the first time in United States history, we have more jobs than people to work. By the year 2022, our region will be short over 280,000 workers. Hourly turnover costs organizations $15,000 per person. The time has come for us to think differently about talent. Minnesota has a vibrant immigrant community, comprised of motivated workers. While numerous agencies and organizations support integration, education and employment, many barriers and break downs exist across the employment life cycle. Use your expertise to evaluate the components of the immigrant life cycle. Contribute to our joint understanding of what barriers exist.

Confirm the advantages of employing a diverse workforce for communities, organizations, and individuals. Understand what resources are required and already exist to help remove the silos. Learn how we can join forces to leverage our underutilized immigrant communities. Join Prosperity Ready’s Founder and CEO, Lisa Perez, for a highly interactive, innovative and frank discussion on how together, we can re-engineer the immigrant employment life cycle to fuel Twin Cities growth.

Learning Outcomes
  1. Discuss and evaluate the components of a refugee-specific employment life cycle
  2. Identify breakdowns and barriers specific to your industry and/or organization
