Description

You’re committed. Your team is committed. Or they aren’t! Your diversity, inclusion and equity goals are clear, but you realize it’s going to take more than just hopes and dreams to make them a reality. Maybe you’re going through the motions, but something’s missing. Or perhaps you’re struggling to get traction and can’t quite figure out how to address the objections you’re detecting. To make change as a leader, you need to develop both mind-sets and skill sets to work across all types of differences, including the resistance and roadblocks you encounter.

In this session, you’ll learn concrete skills to unpack and diagnose what’s really going on as well as how to shift your communication to be more effective at both the individual and systems levels. Through guided reflection activities, interactive dialogue and case scenario application, you’ll practice and apply each of the skills and leave this session with knowledge and strategies to foster an inclusive and equitable environment.

Learning Outcomes
  • Identify mind-set and skill set obstacles you or your teams are facing
  • Decode objections using coaching techniques to make connections across difference
  • Identify at least one strategy to move through an obstacle you are currently facing
