Description

THIS SEMINAR HAS BEEN CANCELED. If you signed up for this seminar, you will receive an email from The Forum on Workplace Inclusion explaining your options. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Competency-based education (CBE) has the potential to be a powerful lever to integrate multiculturalism by promoting equity outcomes. The Pyramid of Inclusion model provides actionable strategies for these goals. This proposed model for multicultural competency-based organizational strategy is grounded in the literature and emphasizes the importance of what we use to develop and assess understanding in all levels of an organization, and how we support knowledge from a multicultural standpoint.

Presenters and participants will collaborate to explore cases using the Pyramid of Inclusion model. Comparison between the cases generates a gap analysis that addresses the session outcome to describe the presence versus absence of an inclusive environment. An actionable approach in the integration of multicultural concepts into competency-based organizational strategy is offered by examining the gaps that exist in the performance of non-Caucasian participants in organizational settings.

Learning Outcomes
  • Describe an environment of inclusion
  • Identify how knowledge, and professional and personal experiences are shaped by diversity of contexts
  • Develop knowledge that promotes competency mastery using inclusion strategies
