New Voices, New Visions: The Future of IDEAS From Next-Gen Leaders

20-minute Spotlight Sessions

Day 2

Session Code: Spotlight 4
When: March 11, 2020
Location/Room: Spotlight Stage
Presenter: Dan Egol, Inclusion NextWork

Description

Millennials and Generation Z represent the two most diverse generations to ever live. Yet, just because many of us have come of age personally and professionally amongst peers representing differences of various kinds does not mean we are inherently more inclusive. In fact, it is exactly because each of us brings such nuanced and complex identities, perspectives and experiences that our generations require a more expansive vision of DEI.

Founded in 2018 to cultivate that vision, Inclusion NextWork (INW) convenes a global collaborative by and for emerging millennial and Generation Z leaders committed to IDEAS: Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility and Social Justice. In this session, we will share key insights gleaned from the co-creation of the organization, incorporating the voices of our generational peers, and provide actionable strategies for embedding IDEAS into organizations and communities in order to foster greater intergenerational partnerships and social change.

Learning Outcomes
  • Explore the INW origin story and its work as a case study for the future of DEI
  • Cultivate intergenerational empathy for stronger partnerships in the IDEAS space
  • Apply and integrate IDEAS into organizations through the SMART IDEAS goals framework, intergenerational boards and mutual mentoring
