Description

Today’s polarized society impacts the workplace of many businesses. Studies show this workplace tension causes both generalized stress and increased reticence to talk about controversial issues that impact the organization’s work. This workshop focuses on both the business case for a culture of belonging and strategies around building community and shifting behavior.

Building cultures of belonging assists leaders and organizations with offerings around:
• Narrative leadership: Communicate a powerful and positive organizational narrative around belonging and the value of diversity and inclusion
• Belonging as an engagement strategy: Educate leaders and employees in the power of belonging to build community, engagement and shift behavior
• Foster personal connection: Identify ways for employees to share personal stories to promote a sense of belonging — of being valued as an individual in the organization
• Dialogue on challenging subjects: Learn tools and processes to dialogue about polarizing issues impacting the business

Learning Outcomes

• Understand the business case for a culture of workplace belonging
• Learn strategies for fostering a culture of workplace belonging
• Identify specific actions the participant can take to foster a culture of workplace belonging
