Description

Are you a white JEDI? Join white Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion practitioners committed to dismantling white supremacy culture that may be infecting your practice. You will have an opportunity to investigate what it means to be a white practitioner. You will examine your past experiences and times when you felt your whiteness helping or hindering your work.

You will be introduced to DEI approaches featured in the 2021 Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Benchmarks. You will analyze which approaches you commonly use with your internal or external clients. You will discuss how these approaches have aligned or conflicted with your clients’ expectations and with the most current antiracist dialogue. You will gain awareness of how white supremacy culture traits do or do not show up within the paradigms in which you tend to operate. The facilitators support you in action-planning how to best dismantle the white supremacy within your professional practice.

Learning Outcomes

• Gain a better understanding of how your own whiteness is impacting your JEDI practice
• Identify effects of the diversity and inclusion approach from which you operate
• Apply strategies for dismantling white supremacy culture in your professional practice
