Working with Differences: Developing the Right Mindset for Success

75-minute Workshops

Day 3

Session Code: S4-C
When: March 10, 2021
Level: Introductory
Track: Diversity Leadership
Presenter: Lilian Eilers, The Blue Ocean Company

Description

How can we change the way we interact with others who are ‘different’ from us? Knowing what to do, how to do it and why it’s important is not enough to make changes in our behavior. The missing component is our mindset — our deeply held beliefs and assumptions that are often unconscious. Creating a mindset shift is the first step in creating real behavioral change in a sustainable way.

Discover exciting new research and immediately applicable frameworks that go beyond sensitivity training to nurture a workforce that is truly able to work with and across differences in the workplace. Post workshop, all attendees will receive a complimentary link to an online tool developed by The Blue Ocean Company that transforms limiting beliefs and biases into empowering beliefs that will drive more inclusive behavior.

Learning Outcomes

• Understand how our individual beliefs combine to create a natural immunity to change
• Find out how to replace limiting beliefs with empowering ones that will drive inclusive behaviors
• Learn about techniques that you can implement to promote collaboration and cooperation in a diverse workforce
