Day 3

Session Code: S5-F
When: April 7, 2022
Level: Intermediate
Track: Social Responsibility
Presenters: Izelda Swanepoel, Chiaro Business Transformation  |  Sonja Swanepoel, Chiaro Business Transformation

Description

If we want to live in peace and harmony in a diverse world with various cultures, nations, and colors, we need to learn how to resolve conflicts and build peace to promote global citizenship. There is a need to learn to address issues such as racism, discrimination, unfavorable behaviors, and conflicts at community level as well as at every individual’s working station to build a global peaceful community.

So much work in the DEI and conflict space has already been done to address these issues, but this session will explore the presenters’ firm belief that Arnold Mindell’s Process Work is the most effective way to bring real reconciliation to communities in the organizational and social spheres and to do deep inner work as well.

Learning Outcomes

• Develop diversity competence by understanding and becoming aware of the concept of Deep Democracy
• Become aware of the dynamics of in-groups/out-groups and rank, power, and privilege
• Understand and gain the ability to apply Mindell’s four steps of conflict resolution in the DEI world
