Day 2
Session Code: S5-CWhen: March 28, 2023
Level: Intermediate
Track: DEI Strategy
Presenters: Dan Gough, LCW | Tamara Thorpe, LCW
Description
During the past three years, organizations have taken unprecedented steps to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in their organizations. But has it worked? Measuring impact and ensuring the impact is sustainable is often an overlooked first step, but it is a vital step to know where you are and where you want to go, and for making it stick.
LCW’s Sustainable Culture of Inclusion (SCI) Model is a framework for understanding what “success across cultures” looks like, as well as a roadmap for creating it. When used in collaboration with our clients, the SCI Model provides an organization with a diagnosis of their starting point along two axes: (y) the mindsets of individuals, especially the leadership and management, and (x) the systems that underlie the organization’s people strategy. Those results are then used to create a path forward and track and evaluate their progress over time.
In this session, presenters will share the theoretical frameworks used to develop the tool, the methodology for using the tool to diagnose clients’ current states, and provide two case studies that demonstrate how the tool was used with clients to optimize their systems and develop proficient mindsets to create a sustainable culture of inclusion — producing both a positive working experience and equitable outcomes for employees.
Learning Outcomes:
• Learn to describe the theoretical frameworks of the SCI Model
• Gain the ability to interpret the stages of the SCI Model
• Understand how LCW uses the SCI Model with clients
