Session Code: VS-8When: March 28, 2023

Description
Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) work that lacks an intersectional lens can make your efforts less effective. At the American Institutes for Research (AIR), our eight employee resource groups collaborate to explore areas of intersectional identity, addressing important intersections like those of race, gender, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
During this session, participants will learn how AIR has facilitated this collaboration, some of the specific topics and intersections covered by the ERGs, and outcomes from this approach to DEI.
Learning Outcomes:
• Learn about intersectionality and how it can be applied to DEI work
• Obtain practical tips on encouraging collaboration among ERGs, with examples from AIR’s ERGs
• Build an action plan for generating conversations among groups at your own organization
