Just a short walk in the skyway from the Minneapolis Hilton, the Equity Innovation Experience is a unique learning component developed in partnership with the Science Museum of Minnesota and housed in our Downtown Dayton YMCA of the North in the UnitedHealth Group Equity Innovation Center.
The Equity Innovation Experience is a multi-station experience that serves as a catalyst to engage the mind on equity, diversity, inclusion, global realities, and culturally relevant environments. We’ll utilize a variety of learning styles to provide opportunities for a personal transformation where participants will be able to see life from another’s point of view around the topics of culture, history, and race.
Participants will be immersed in an experience that will expand their perspective and inspire actions to solve social problems in a life-altering, novel way and spark internal re-evaluation. The facilitated debrief and reflection time following the experience is a critical component of this learning process.
Learning Outcomes
• Develop a deeper understanding of culture, history, and race as they relate to current realities
• Experience the Equity Innovation Center and reflect on personal experiences with culture and race
• Identify practical applications for addressing barriers and bias to leading with excellence and equity
