60-minute Workshop

Day 2

Session Code: VS-5
When: March 28, 2023
Level: Intermediate
Track: Critical Employment Practices
Industry Designation: Technology
Presenter: Roselle Rogers, Circa

Description

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is no longer a “nice-to-have” but a business imperative. Although the business case for having a diverse workforce provides a huge advantage to companies, there are challenges that must be overcome.

This session will tackle bias in hiring and offer solutions for employers to diversify their workforce and reduce bias in hiring by leveraging Artificial Intelligence and HR technology.

We will dive into how bias kills diversity and the myths vs. facts surrounding AI, while seeing how carefully designed AI that redacts information from resumes, debiases job postings, and standardizes the job-matching process to focus on skills can help mitigate implicit bias, race and class discrimination, and ageism in your selection and hiring process and make it more inclusive.

Learning Outcomes:

• Examine how carefully designed and properly used artificial intelligence can help eliminate implicit bias in recruiting
• Learn best practices for diversifying your pipeline and making your candidate evaluation process more inclusive
• Understand how making job postings more inclusive and debiasing job descriptions can help you surface a more diverse pool of active and passive job seekers
