MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — September 28, 2018 — The Forum on Workplace Inclusion® (The Forum) at the University of St. Thomas along with the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota are excited to announce, “The Blueprint for Organizational Change: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Minnesota’s Capital City,” featuring Saint Paul Mayor Melvin Carter, Toni Newborn (City of Saint Paul), Andrea L. Turner, J.D. (City of Saint Paul), and Scott Hamman (Human Capital Consultant). The event will take place on Thursday, October 31 from 8:00 am – 10:00 am at the University of St. Thomas, Minneapolis campus, Opus Hall, room 201 (MOH 201).

Registration is $29 per person, and a breakfast buffet is included with price of admission. Attendance is free for University of St. Thomas students, faculty, and staff, but registration is still required. Space is limited.

At the October 31 event, City leadership will discuss strategies it has employed to diversify its workforce, to retain people of color and women, and to authentically build relationships with community organizations through a lens of equity and inclusion.

“Building our workforce to reflect Saint Paul’s diversity is critical to building a city that works for all of us,” said Mayor Melvin Carter. “I’m thrilled to share our lessons at The Forum and look forward to creating more equitable and inclusive outcomes for our community together.”

The Forum’s Executive Director Steve Humerickhouse speaks to the value of the Diversity Insights Breakfast experience as well as the actions-based learning opportunities in the October 31 event.

“This Diversity Insights Breakfast is a wonderful opportunity to experience how one of our leading cities is meeting the challenge of putting workplace diversity and inclusion concepts into action,” said The Forum Executive Director Steve Humerickhouse.

The Forum on Workplace Inclusion® Diversity Insights Breakfasts happen three times a year — October, February, June — located in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota.
