The City of St. Paul is facing high rates of retirement and a disconnect in diverse representation between its citizens and public servants. The new mayor, Melvin Carter, wants to change this.

Join us as the City’s leadership discusses strategies it has employed to diversify its workforce, to retain people of color and women, and to authentically build relationships with community organizations through a lens of equity and inclusion.

Participants will learn about the City’s equity framework, and its approach to:

  • Community driven hiring process for its leadership
  • Community engagement
  • Training and development
  • Recruitment strategies
