Solving For X Forum Community Challenge

Compete in the Solving for X Challenge for a chance to showcase your most inventive thinking in the Day 2 General Session.

To solve for x means finding the value of x that would make the equation you see hold true. For example, solving for x in the equation x +1 =3 is simple. We know that 2 +1 = 3, therefore the value of x would be 2. While this rule works no matter what the equation, the work required to solve for x increases the more complex the equation or expression we are trying to prove.

Consider if you will that we are all solving to prove this expression: EQUITY is the solution to many of our world problems. Consider further in order to solve for x, we must first shift from seeing EQUITY as the problem to solving to EQUITY as the possible solution to many of our problems. By assuming EQUITY as constant, we can begin to examine the other variables in the equation. This is our challenge: solving for x means finding what our equation requires from us to prove EQUITY true.

Solving for X Challenge FAQ

What is the 2022 Solving for X Forum Community Challenge?

We invite Forum participants to submit inventive solutions to the following expression and question: EQUITY is the solution to many of our world problems. What important unknown factor holds the potential of proving equity as a true expression in your work and in the world? How and what must you add, subtract, multiply or divide to get there? Submissions should be solutions that you are already exercising to prove the expression of Equity true in your work or world (community) environment.

How do I express my solution?

You can show or tell us your solution using words, graphics, audio or video recording not to exceed 60 seconds in duration. Solutions may include clips of case studies, evidence or other signs that prove Solving for X to be true. They can also include music, movement, or other expressions that help tell the story of your solution. High consideration will be given for imaginative, creative and engaging submissions.

How many solutions can I submit?

You may submit as many solutions as you wish that demonstrate proof of the expression of Equity to be true.

What will happen to my submission(s) once they are received?

All submissions received by March 11, 2022, will be reviewed by committee and be considered in alignment with the following criteria: inventiveness, creativity, proof of value, sustainability

How do I submit my solution?

Submissions can be made by clicking here. If you plan to submit more than one solution, please use a separate form for each.

How and when will I know if my submission has been selected?

Notifications of submissions chosen to be presented at the April 6 general session will be made on or before March 15, 2022. Everyone who has submitted a solution will be notified.
