Allison F. Avery, MA, brings nearly two decades of experience working across the functions of human capital development, starting her work in diversity and equity as a Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco. Ms. Avery led inclusion, organizational and talent development initiatives across NYU Langone Health System, providing organizational development and D&I consultation, learning design and delivery, leadership development and coaching to institution leaders, clinical departments and system-wide business centers. As an EQI 2.0, KFALP and MBTI-certified practitioner, Allison coached groups and individuals to enhance self-awareness, team effectiveness and management capabilities.

Most recently, Ms. Avery held a senior role at the premier law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom, LLP, where she developed global talent, diversity and inclusion strategies. Allison has independently consulted across various industries, including: health care, technology, global non-profits, and educational institutions. Ms. Avery holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, a certificate in Human Resources Management from Cornell University ILR School, and is completing her postgraduate psychoanalytic training with the Jungian Psychoanalytic Association. Her subject matter expertise is: emotional and cultural intelligence, empathy, unconscious bias, and depth psychology. Her work as an OD and D&I practitioner is informed by her training as a psychoanalyst.
