Role: Session Presenter Session: Hiring College Students with Disabilities—Innovative Strategies for Success (S3-K)
Ann Macheledt is an active board member of the Minnesota Business Leadership Network (MNBLN) and long-term contributor to their many initiatives and events. MNBLN is a nonprofit organization and an employer-led endeavor to promote best practices that enhance employment and career opportunities for skilled individuals who have a disability.
Ann has worked in rehabilitation and the disability arena for the last 24 years. She currently is a staff training and development specialist for State of Minnesota’s Vocational Rehabilitation division. Prior to that, she had been an associate director leading UnitedHealth Group’s Total Absence Management Accommodation and Return to Work Program. Ann also worked in the nonprofit sector for over 15 years as consultant and program manager for Staying On the Job, and oversaw the retention and evaluation programs at RESOURCE Inc.
Ann has consulted with more than 550 companies and agencies to help meet their ADA/ADAAA compliance, training, and retention needs. She has conducted over 250 trainings for both employees and employers on ADA/ADAAA issues—suggesting practical approaches and accommodations to keep employees with disabilities on the job.
Ann received an MS in rehabilitation counseling psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a BA in psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. She is a national Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC).
