2022 Conference Session: Innovation in the Unknown: EmERG-ing from Quarantine Closer than Before (TT6-B)

Ashley Xiong is a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) with the Spine Division of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. She has more than 10 years of experience working in healthcare and has been at Mayo Clinic since May of 2018.

As a CCRC, she helps patients find suitable alternative options for treatment of spinal conditions, conducts clinical trials, and helps medical students, residents, and fellows get going in research. Her favorite part of each day is talking to the patients, developing new studies, and helping others start their own research.

Prior to coming to Rochester, Ashley lived in Minneapolis where she graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in biology. Her career journey has led her through a variety of roles that always included elements of the biomedical sciences, education, and serving others, all of which has prepared her for her role as a STEM co-lead.

In her free time, Ashley is a host and content developer for the (G)LOWdown podcast, a multimedia artist, and a frequent traveler. She likes to go backpacking with her boyfriend, relax with her two cats, scuba dive, salsa dance, and find delicious new restaurants.
