Austin G. Crossman

Austin is the Marketing Assistant at The Forum on Workplace Inclusion.

Austin was born in Canon City, CO in November 1995. He graduated from De Pere High School in De Pere, WI in May 2014. He is currently attending the University of St. Thomas for his Bachelor of Arts in Business with a concentration in Marketing Management with an anticipated graduation date of May 2019.

During his first year at Hamline University, Austin acquired an internship as a Project Management Intern at the University’s Marketing and Communications department where he had the opportunity to dive into the world of marketing before taking a class in it with his mentor as his guide. He has had the opportunity to learn skills and gain exposure to project management, brand management, as well as digital and printed marketing.

As a student, Austin received awards such as the Green Award, which reflects the recipient being honored for religious, spiritual, and service leadership, which was presented by Hamline University Spectrum, the LGBTQI+ student organization on campus.

Shortly after transferring to the University of St. Thomas, Austin joined The Forum on Workplace Inclusion as the Marketing Assistant, where he has the opportunity to be “in the trenches” of developing marketing campaigns from start to finish. He assists with all initiatives brand-related to ensure consistency and positive brand representation, assists with generating content across The Forum’s social media platforms, website management, and will create and design The Forum’s presence on the CrowdCompass app.

In the future, Austin hopes to create his own TED talk which focuses on the relationship between marketing and diversity, equity, and inclusion. In addition, Austin plans to establish a non-profit that will bridge the gap between low-income families and healthy produce.
