Dr. Naomi Ono is a co-founder of Synapse Minnesota and serves as president. She is an experienced diversity education specialist who has taught racially, linguistically and culturally diverse people at several colleges and universities in Minnesota and Wisconsin. She has also taught as a licensed teacher in ESL Education in Minnesota and Japan.

Prior to her teaching career, Naomi was an entertainment reporter for Asahi newspaper in Tokyo, Japan. She received her doctorate in global and multicultural education at Hamline University in St. Paul.
