Gabriel Moreno

Gabriel Moreno, senior Diversity, Equity and Inclusion consultant, came to Hennepin County from Hastings Public Schools (Minnesota) where he served as the AVID district director, Equity coordinator, and Native American cultural liaison. Gabriel’s most recent experience includes coaching and advising nearly 500 staff members and the school board, while acting as a cultural liaison and advocate for more than 100 students.

Gabriel has experience hearing and uniting diverse perspectives held by stakeholders to a vision of equity. His equity lens is informed not just by education and relevant training but lived experiences and personal reflection on the phenomenon of “othering.”

He has been the primary resource and champion around Hastings Equity and Diversity or Gender Inclusion policies. Gabriel has also worked in Minneapolis and Edina public school systems and holds certification as an IDI Qualified Administrator.
