Heather Hanson is a senior Prospect Development analyst in the Mayo Clinic Department of Development. She partners with development officers in creating strategies to match benefactor passions with the priorities of Mayo Clinic.

She has been working in the field of fundraising and prospect development for more than 10 years. In previous roles, she was a grant writer, philanthropy advisor, fundraising consultant, development officer, and department director at academic, healthcare, and community-based organizations. Prior to her work in fundraising and prospect development, she was a social worker.

Heather earned her undergraduate degree in family social science from the University of Minnesota and her Master of Public and Nonprofit Administration from Metropolitan State University.

She is a recent to transplant to Rochester, Minn., where she lives with her husband, daughter, hound dog, and crabby cat. Heather enjoys jigsaw puzzles, knitting, sewing, exploring her community, talking with friends at local coffee shops and breweries, and dancing in her kitchen while making yummy plant-based foods.
