Jorge Consuegra is the chief diversity officer at the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) where he started in November 2017. Jorge was born in Cuba and grew up in Avon, Conn.; being Cuban-American is an important part of his life. He earned his bachelor’s degree in international relations from Tufts University and, later, his MBA from Harvard.

Jorge, a marketer by training, had previous roles including chief marketing officer at Forbes, vice president of international marketing at Yahoo!, general manager for Yahoo! en español, and director of marketing for Pepsi International. Prior to joining EDF, Jorge was partner at a full-service advertising agency called the Fearless Group and he spent six years on the board of directors of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the leading association for HR professionals worldwide. Much of Jorge’s career has had an emphasis on multicultural marketing.

Outside of the office, Jorge enjoys running, playing tennis, and watching baseball, soccer, and college wrestling. He specifically roots for the Yankees and the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team. He is married and has four children.
