Mary Jo Schifsky

Founder

Company: GenSync LLC
Role: Session Presenter

Mary Jo Schifsky founded GenSync LLC to change the dialogue about “traditional retirement age”. She puts the ongoing tension between recognition of older-worker value in MN’s workforce and ageism endured by those 55+ into perspective, and then discusses specific options and tools available to employers and employees as the entire work-life paradigm shifts.

Today, she’s working to embed Back to Work 50+, an AARP Foundation career assessment and training program for older workers, into HIRED, a long-time workforce development service provider, adding this unique offering to the workforce development resources in MN.

Most recently Interim Executive Director of the Friends of Saint Paul College Foundation, Mary Jo’s work history includes over 40 years of business leadership, in both for- and non-profit settings, serving as CEO, Executive Director and Director. An engaging speaker, she teaches and mentors entrepreneurs at WomenVenture, is a small-business coach and serves as an officer of the Board for Charities Review Council.

A lifelong learner, Mary Jo is supplementing her decades-old MBA with work on a graduate degree in Organizational Leadership/Policy Development at the University of Minnesota.
