Matthew Hanzlik is vice president, Diversity and Inclusion at Nielsen where he leads systemic change initiatives to embed inclusion and equity into all of Nielsen’s global associate processes. Best known as the iconic Nielsen Television Ratings, Nielsen is a global measurement and data analytics company measuring what consumers watch, listen to, and buy in more than 100 countries. Nielsen measurement covers over 90 percent of the global population. Nielsen has been recognized as Forbes No. 2 Best Employers for Diversity and has a perfect 100 percent designation from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality.

Matt has been leading diversity and inclusion initiatives at Nielsen since 2016. He’s a skilled facilitator, leading leadership development programs for all levels of associates. Matt joined Nielsen in 2010 as an analytic consultant where we worked with Nielsen’s leading global FMGC clients. Prior to Nielsen, he worked in the nonprofit sector for a public policy advocacy organization dedicated to advancing medical research.

Matt was named a Top 40 Under 40 LGBTQ Leader by the Business Equality Network. Externally, he is a recognized speaker in presenting best practices at industry conferences and through podcasts. Matt serves as an emeritus board member for the National Parkinson Foundation Minnesota Chapter. He and his husband live in Minneapolis where, on the weekends, you can find Matt pushing others to be their best self as a spinning instructor at Torque Cycling, an indoor cycling studio in Northeast Minneapolis.
