Role: Guest Speaker  /  Session Presenter

2022 Conference Session: Day 2 General Session: Solving for X by identifying I

Tami Jackson (she/her/hers) is a Black American descendent of chattel slavery of generous height and size. A writer and Instructional Designer for The Winters Group, Inc., she has nearly 15 years of experience in industries including sports/entertainment, advertising, real estate, and tech with a penchant for justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.

She is a first-generation graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Asian languages and culture and American studies from the University of Michigan, and a Master of Arts in Black studies from The University of Texas at Austin. A frequent speaker, panelist, and mentor, Tami profoundly believes in the power and necessity of being one’s authentic self and retired from code-switching years ago.

Tami is an enthusiastic blerd, gamer, dyslexic, cosplayer, boundary enforcer, and plus-sized fashionista. She don’t play about her nerd-centric media, Black American culture, sleep, ’70s soul music, ’90s R&B, and family — bio and chosen. She proudly hails from Detroit, Mich., and rests her head begrudgingly in Austin, Texas.
