The University of St. Thomas and The Forum on Workplace Inclusion® (FWI) value the privacy of our users. FWI collects information to serve our users. FWI collects and stores personal information only knowingly provided to us. FWI does not share personal information. FWI also collects organizational information for research and customer services. 

This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection of information from this website that can personally identify you and/or your organization, and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used.

Personal Information Collected

 FWI collects and stores contact information from individuals as it is knowingly provided to us, including email addresses. FWI does not distribute personal information or email addresses to third parties without your explicit consent. We use this information to contact individuals via email and mail with additional resources that might be of interest, including upcoming events and trainings, new publications, or other resources. You may choose at any time not to provide personally identifiable information. 

The following are examples of personally identifiable information that you may volunteer to provide and examples of how we use such information. 

  • Email Addresses – FWI collects email addresses from those that register for events or subscribe to emails. FWI may use your email address to send you emails from FWI, including marketing emails from FWI, updates, or email newsletters. To unsubscribe to any or all of FWI emails, click unsubscribe located at the bottom of any FWI email communication. FWI does not distribute email addresses to third parties without your prior explicit consent.  
  • Mailing Addresses – FWI collects mailing addresses of those that register for events or purchase items. FWI may send via mail member newsletters, brochures or other promotional items. To opt out of any mailings from FWI contact FWI directly at and request to be removed from the physical mailing list. FWI only distributes publicly available organizational addresses, and in doing so does not associate individual names, except main contacts, to third parties. 
  • Cookies – FWI web site uses cookies to collect information about both website usage, and to ensure a better user experience.  This experience may also include marketing information. A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s hard drive containing information about the user in order to reduce redundant entry of that information. Some cookies are persistent, which means they may remain after you close your browser.  Some cookies are erased when you are finished browsing our website and close your browser session.

Organizational Information Collected 

FWI makes organizational contact information and professional contact information available through The Forum on Workplace Inclusion® presenter online directory; however, information published was supplied via the organization represented or professional, or gathered from publicly available informational resources.  

Email addresses, phone, and fax numbers are not made available to third parties without your prior explicit consent. Any organization may request their information be omitted from lists provided to third parties by contacting FWI at or (651) 962-4377 and expressing its preference not to have its information shared.  

Financial Data Security 

FWI neither stores nor discloses credit card account information provided by its customers. When members and customers choose to pay by credit card, FWI submits this information directly to a secure credit card processor.

Photography and Image Capture 

FWI takes photographs and video during public events and solicits photographs from our network of their work and occasionally selects quality photos for distribution via this website, social media, or other means. Photos are taken in public settings during public events. If you are included in a photograph and would prefer that it not be distributed, please contact FWI at and let us know what photo and where you saw it. We will do our best to remove it from circulation. 

Embedded content from other websites 

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. 

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. 

How long we retain your data 

For users that register and/or submit information on our website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile indefinitely. All users can request, edit, or delete their personal information at any time. Website administrators can also see and edit that information. Choice Opt Out 

FWI provides all individuals and customers the opportunity to opt out of having your personal information used for certain purposes. If you have registered for an event, no longer wish to receive promotional communications, or would like FWI to erase any personal data we hold about you, you may opt out of receiving communications and have your information deleted by emailing  This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. 


Throughout this website, FWI links to third-party websites. In the event you choose to access such links, please note that they are not covered by this Privacy Policy. When you follow a link to another website, you are subject to the privacy policy of that website. 

FWI may choose to update this policy at any time.  Those changes will be posted on this website.  Your continued use of website constitutes an acceptance of this policy and all posted changes.
