Description

This session will engage individuals working in government with emerging trends and best practices to diversify the workforce and ensure an inclusive climate within government to confirm a better future for all. Specifically, this session will engage participants in discussions around how to continue the momentum of your diversity and inclusion strategies in an environment where leadership can change every election cycle, and where building trust and engaging historically disenfranchised communities can present challenges to recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Gain an understanding about how to sustain diversity and inclusion plans and strategies across election cycles.
  • Learn about successes in reaching out to disenfranchised communities.
  • Take away strategies for successful recruitment of people with disabilities and criminal records.
