Tonya Palmer is an accomplished professional proudly serving as the director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Hennepin County. She has led both the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Department and the Learning and Development Division, and she embraces lifelong learning.
Tonya has studied leadership, curriculum development, and adult learning extensively, and is a St. Thomas alumna. In her personal time, she relishes her roles as mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Tonya also enjoys spiritual retreats, fostering and placing dogs in permanent homes, and exploring the rich cultural terrain of the Twin Cities.
