Evolving Beyond Allies: Building Networks of Allyship at Work

60-minute Workshop

Day 1

Session Code: S2-A
When: March 27, 2023
Level: Intermediate
Track: DEI Strategy
Presenter: Dr. Kristin Lee, NextUp

Description

How do you build networks of allyship in the workplace to enable diverse and talented individuals to express themselves, feel fully actualized, and drive critical business outcomes?

This session is focused on sharing field-tested best practices as deployed across change management programs at organizations such as Visa, General Mills, and Walgreens. We will discuss the challenges that women and underrepresented groups face and the importance of building cultures that enable operationalized allyship through empathy, increased community, and impact. The session will then transition to how to build increased awareness, enable impact, and activate community within a large enterprise, all while maintaining executive stakeholder alignment.

Learning Outcomes:

• In-field practitioners will leave the session better equipped to design evergreen initiatives that create a network of support and allyship.
• Executives, champions, and practitioners will learn the “why” of allyship, and why it has expanded to encompass all underrepresented groups.
• All audiences will learn how new, best-in-class technology solutions can support allyship education efforts and scale impact.
