Courtney Schroeder is a Diversity and Inclusion director at General Mills and joined the company in 2012. In his current role, he leads initiatives under the workforce and consumer inclusion pillars of the company’s global inclusion strategy. This includes spearheading racial equity efforts, designing enterprise-wide initiatives around unconscious bias and the importance of diversity on teams, and providing thought leadership on behalf of the center of excellence.
In 2018, Courtney led the planning of the first-ever General Mills Employee Network Summit bringing together more than 700 employees from the company’s six corporate employee networks for two days of professional development and community building. Prior to joining Diversity and Inclusion in 2018, he held several marketing positions including within the cereal operating unit where he launched introductions of new products including Girl Scouts Thin Mint and Caramel Crunch, Blueberry Chex, and Annie’s Organic Cereals.
Courtney earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan Stephen M. Ross School of Business in 2013 and is a proud alum of the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management. Prior to business school, he was an audit manager at Deloitte & Touche LLP specializing in Consumer Business. Outside of work, Courtney serves on the board of directors for Project for Pride in Living, a Twin Cities-based housing and workforce development nonprofit.
A native of Southern California, Courtney lives in Minneapolis with his wife and newborn daughter.
