Dominic J. Perri is president and principal consultant of Essential Conversations Group, a consulting firm based in Chicago. Dominic is a nationally recognized consultant who has worked extensively in the field of diversity, equity and inclusion, including several years with Cook Ross. In addition, he has provided change management support, strategic planning, leadership development, and board development to over 100 organizations in more than 25 states.

A sample of his recent projects includes:
• Partnered with United Way of Central Indiana to develop the Diversity and Inclusion initiative “What It’s Like to Be Me”, deliver unconscious bias training and provide an assessment of UWCI’s organizational culture. In these initiatives he partnered with the executive leadership and board and led all-employee gatherings.
• Developed and led change management processes for Randstad Corporation, DePaul University, Spherion Corporation and Muscular Dystrophy Association.
• Designed and delivered leadership training programs for CareerBuilder, McKesson Specialty Health, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Loyola University–Chicago and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

Additional clients include Consulate Healthcare, Dot Foods and University of Kentucky.

Dominic recently co-authored a national study of strategic planning practices among nonprofits, published in the journal of Strategy and Leadership. He has presented at numerous national conferences and spoke across the U.S. on topics including building belonging in organizations and managing people of different generations.

He has served as adjunct faculty at DePaul University, currently serves on the leadership team for the Conscious Capitalism Chicago Chapter, and was a former board member of the Organization Development Network of Chicago. He also has extensive experience in surveys and focus groups from working at research centers at the University of Maryland and Georgetown University.

Dominic is a certified executive coach whose clients include university presidents, corporate CEOs and national religious leaders. He holds a BS in physics from The Catholic University of America as well as an MA in both sociology and economics from the University of Maryland, College Park. He is certified in Center for Creative Leadership 360 Suite, 3VQ, Covey 7 Habits, and Human Synergistics Organizational Culture Inventory.

In addition to his professional work, Dominic enjoys cooking, Renaissance Italian art, and European soccer. He lives with his wife, Patricia, and their two daughters in Elmhurst, Ill. He can be reached at djperri@gmail.com
