Dr. Joy L. Wiggins is a professor, activist, educator, and writer. She received her doctorate in multicultural education with a focus on social justice from The Ohio State University, and has been teaching in higher education since 2000. She is the director and CEO of Global Peaceful Paths, LLC, a consulting company that focuses on equity, inclusion, and social justice, and she is a professor at Western Washington University.
Joy has presented at numerous international and national conferences and published in many higher-education journals. She also presented part of her current work on Women Liberating Women in the Workplace at a TEDxWWU Talk. Her current research focuses on actively evaluating the way we are socially constructed and how that plays into our daily intercultural communicative experiences. Her goal is to facilitate transformative learning opportunities infused with empathy, education, and liberation for all.
She and Dr. Kami Anderson are writing a book on women supporting women, focusing on feminist solidarity and empowerment.
