Lessie Askew

Lessie Askew joined Amnesty International USA (AIUSA) in 2018. In her role as national director, People Experience, she leads strategic activities overseeing all aspects of people experience and human resources.

Prior to AIUSA, Lessie served as the associate vice president, Human Resources, at Planned Parenthood of New York City. She has 12 years of experience working with various social justice-focused nonprofits. Lessie is deeply aware of the impact of social justice work on employees and the additional care needed to humanly support them in their work supporting others and the greater movement.
