Seema Desai

Seema Desai currently serves as the director for the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) Office of Equity and Diversity. In this role, she oversees agency-wide equity, diversity, equal opportunity, nondiscrimination, and affirmative action activities and programs and is responsible for providing expert advice and legal consultation to ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws relating to employment discrimination.

Seema joined MnDOT in 2015 with a JD from Hamline University School of Law and a BA in gender, women, and sexuality studies and Asian American studies. She is a licensed attorney and a qualified mediator, with more than 10 years of experience in the field of civil rights, including enforcement of municipal, state, and federal discrimination laws.
