Nonprofit organizations face unique challenges in navigating diversity, equity and inclusion within their workplaces. Those that have a direct services component face particular complexities given the highly differentiated experiences of those working in the field and those working in an office environment. The COVID-19 pandemic placed additional burdens on those working in the field as they navigated health and safety concerns while also ensuring their target beneficiaries continued to receive the programming and services they needed. In this 60-minute session, members of the Aleria team as well as the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta will share how they worked together to gain greater insight into how those in the field could be better supported and made to feel more included. We will discuss the challenges unearthed from leveraging Aleria’s patent-pending framework for measuring inclusion, the steps that were taken to solve these issues, what worked and what didn’t. We encourage anyone working in nonprofits or those working with nonprofits on people management to attend.

  • Gain insight into the unique needs and challenges faced by nonprofits when it comes to DEI.
  • Learn how to bridge hierarchical divides within the nonprofit sector that cause frustration and exclusion between direct services and office workers.
  • Understand how to get a deeper understanding of inclusion in the workplace by quantifying employee experiences.
