Description

THIS SPOTLIGHT HAS BEEN CANCELED.

Throughout the country, companies are asking the same question: How do we attract, retain and welcome employees from different backgrounds? Even though diverse companies tend to be more innovative, more respected and more profitable, today’s workplaces still aren’t designed with everyone in mind. This contributes to widening gaps in disparities across the business world: The unemployment rate for African Americans is nearly twice as high as white workers; men dominate the boardrooms of Fortune 500 companies; and only 6.4 percent of CEO positions are filled by women.

Today’s companies want to dismantle systems that keep people out—whether it’s for their race, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability or level of education—but they often don’t know where to start. For organizations ready to reimagine their future, there are five questions to ask.

Learning Outcomes
  • Learn five questions companies can ask if they want to dismantle systems keeping people out
  • Identify at least two actions companies took to attract, retain and welcome employees from diverse backgrounds
  • Describe five strategies you can implement to be more inclusive, innovative and profitable
