Description

More and more, employee resource groups (ERGs) are leveraging their social capital to affect change both at their organizations and in their communities. During this interactive session, participants will hear from two ERGs that have led the way at their organizations in bridging some key gaps through thoughtful and innovative approaches to complex problems.

The Millennial Innovation Council from Capgemini will share how they have utilized a series of hackathons to create solutions for an array of challenges while simultaneously fostering a collaborative culture both internally and externally with other businesses and community-based organizations. GSK’s African American Alliance (AAA) ERG was pivotal in the creation and implementation of the Race and Ethnicity Council at GSK, created to address the gaps at GSK that keep people of color from advancing in the organization. Learn how AAA leveraged data and engaged key stakeholders to drive this crucial initiative.

In addition, Diversity Best Practices will share key trends, next practices, tools and templates for employee resource groups, their leaders and allies. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with the presenters through multiple Q&A breaks throughout the program and table top conversations during which attendees will leverage the expertise in the room to think through the ways they can apply their learnings and create a plan of action to bring back to their own organizations.

Learning Outcomes
  1. Deepen your understanding of what it takes for an ERG to influence change at an organization
  2. Engage with fellow session participants to hone in on the opportunities to apply your learning
  3. Take away tools and resources to support your efforts and continue the conversation with your team
